it.sec was founded 1996 by Holger Heimann, who lead and developed the business since then. Mr. Heimann will continue to manage the company after the transaction in his position as managing director and co-shareholder of Swiss IT Security Group. it.sec, headquartered in Ulm, is active in approx. 30 countries and specialised in the fast-growing service segments IT governance, penetration testing as well as IT forensics. In addition, the company is also a service provider for numerous data protection mandates (General Data Protection Regulation services). The interdisciplinary team serves customers of all sizes in the private and public sector.

Buyer is the Wettingen (CH)-based Swiss IT Security Group, which was founded in 2017 by the private investor group Ufenau Capital Partners and the management team. The company has c. 370 employees and is active in the entire DACH region. Since inception, already 10 companies have joined the group. All group members benefit from strong synergies, shared services and the exchange of know-how, resulting in real value-add for the customers. Swiss IT Security Group is offering its customers a full-service portfolio in the analysis of cybersecurity risks, architecture and design of tailor-made IT security concepts and the 24/7 operation of such structures including their necessary support.

The Rautenberg Moritz & Co. team supported the seller as advisors and led the entire M&A process up to the successful completion of the transaction.
